Nestled in the heart of stunning Dorset countryside, the town was once home to Thomas Hardy who described the Blackmore Vale as “The Vale of Little Dairies”. The Swan Inn, located in the old market place, dates back to medieval times and has been at the centre of community life for centuries.

Sunday 12noon – 3.00pm (the kitchen is open for residents on Sunday evenings only)
The Inn boasts 5 well-appointed rooms all with en-suite shower & wc facilities. A freshly cooked Full English can be enjoyed in the Breakfast room or secluded garden and speciality coffees are served from late morning. Sample our selection of locally brewed Real Ales or enjoy a glass of Pimms in the garden.
Our seasonally changing menu ranges from light bites to wholesome freshly cooked dishes using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
The Inn is often a vibrant spot at the weekends with live music and the surrounding views and stunning sunsets can be enjoyed from the famous Dorset Trailway just around the corner.
